Belvento is an interesting brand from the famous winery Petra, dedicated to the line of Sea Wines. It is a collection of labels that expresses the authentic character, sunny and Mediterranean of the wild nature of the Tuscan coast. Petra is one of the properties of the Moretti family, famous for the Franciacorta brand of Classic Method sparkling wines Bellavista. The origins of the project stem from the desire of Vittorio Moretti and his daughter Francesca to find a place to produce great red wines, modeled after the famous Bordeaux models, with the most famous international grape varieties and fresh, fruity still whites, in order to complete the range of Franciacorta labels.
The estate is located near Suvereto, in a historically very suitable place for viticulture, between the coastline of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the first hills of the Metalliferous Mountains. The vineyards are cultivated on the gentle slopes of the first hilly area of the inland, within an untouched natural context, characterized by the presence of a rich spontaneous vegetation of shrubs.wild of the Mediterranean scrub. The climate is warm and dry, always mitigated by the constant sea breezes, which keep the grapes dry and healthy. The soils are quite heterogeneous, but generally poor and stony, very draining and suitable for hosting, in addition to the indigenous Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Ansonica, and Vermentino, also the international Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Merlot, Syrah, and Viognier, which express themselves in these lands with a particularly warm and ripe profile.
