Terres Secretes
In the heart of the Mâconnais, at the extreme south of Burgundy, you will find the Vignerons des Terres Secrètes, the only wine cooperative located within the prestigious site of Solutré-Pouilly-Vergisson. This reality represents the legacy of a cooperative movement born at the beginning of the 20th century from the merger of the cooperatives of Prissé, Sologny, and Verzé. Today, the association counts about 120 winemakers who cultivate a total of 900 hectares of vineyards, with a strong territorial identity and a long history behind them. Their mission is to enhance the most vocated places in the region, transforming small plots into true recognizable clos, similar to secret gardens, where the vine meets light and tradition in perfect balance.
The work in the vineyard and cellar reflects a constant commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. Each parcel is identified and selected for its exposure, soil composition, and vine age, with particular attention given to the most characteristic lieux-dits of the Mâconnais. The principal variety is Chardonnay, which finds in these gently rolling hills ideal conditions to express freshness, complexity, and aromatic depth. The limestone soils and optimal sun exposure give the grapes a natural richness that is preserved thanks to precise winemaking practices, curated by the maître de chai, who carefully selects the bunches to enhance their potential in each cuvée.
