Breccia
Cantina Breccia is a young wine estate founded in the Piana Rotaliana by Omar Pancher, a third-generation winegrower who grew up among the vineyards of Mezzocorona. The winery takes its name from the characteristic breccia soils that define the land of the plain and shape its viticultural landscape. The estate has chosen to remain deeply rooted in the local environment while focusing on the quality and personality of its wines as a way to tell the story of the Trentino territory. Breccia’s vision is based on a balance between respect for the viticultural tradition of the Adige Valley and a desire to experiment, with the aim of interpreting both native and international grape varieties in an authentic way.
Breccia’s production philosophy is built on a direct relationship with the vineyard and the soils that surround it, reflecting an artisanal care that begins with the daily work in the fields. In these vineyards, located between 200 and 600 meters above sea level, varieties such as Teroldego, Lagrein, and Chardonnay find ideal conditions thanks to the combination of exposure, Alpine microclimate, and mineral-rich soils. Harvesting is carried out by hand, and the grapes are picked at the optimal level of ripeness in order to preserve freshness and varietal identity.
In the cellar, Breccia favors winemaking techniques that respect the natural expressiveness of the grapes. For some wines, the winery works with indigenous yeasts and aging on fine lees to enrich the texture and flavor profile, while for white wines and sparkling wines, fermentation and aging in wood or in bottle allow for greater complexity and harmony, balancing freshness and structure. This attention to production details is an integral part of Breccia’s approach, which aims to connect wine and people by bringing into the bottle the vision of a territory and the story of those who cultivate it.
