Musto Carmelitano
Musto Carmelitano is a family-run winery managed by Elisabetta Musto Carmelitano, a passionate and sincere entrepreneur who, with the help of her brother Luigi and father Francesco, is investing everything in the quality of her labels. Proud and determined, Elisabetta grew up in the countryside, among her grandparents' wine and cereals; from the meeting with the Campanian oenologist Sebastiano Fortunato, the dream of producing and bottling quality wine was born: it was 2007, the beginning of great successes and satisfactions.
In the vineyards of Musto Carmelitano, Aglianico grapes are cultivated organically, then scrupulously selected and hand-picked. Only in this way has it been possible to create exceptional wines, combining tradition with a richer conception of wine that harmonizes well with the characteristics of the Maschito territory. The three hectares owned by the winery include three different vineyards, where Guyot-trained vines of varying ages are rooted in soils composed of red clays rich in minerals: Pian del vineyard, Moro (80 years old), Serra del Prete vineyard (45 years), Vernavà vineyard (25 years).
The wines of Musto Carmelitano are able to unleash an unparalleled elegance, which fully reflects the taste of their creator, also thanks to the measured and never invasive use of wood. Thanks to the age of the plants and the scrupulous care reserved for the grapes in the vineyard and in the cellar, the wines are surprisingly ready right from the start. With her high-level productions, Elisabetta Musto Carmelitano is truly elevating her name, that of the renowned land of Maschito and all of Basilicata.
