Ronco Blanchis

In the territory of Collio Goriziano, the family-run winery Ronco Blanchis is committed to showing all the oenological potential of the area, cultivated since ancient times by noble Austrian and Spanish families. At the helm of the winery are Giancarlo Palla and his sons Alberto and Lorenzo, a family team operating in the homonymous locality of Blanchis, within the small rural village of Mossa, dedicating production exclusively to white wines, a true pride of Collio. The Palla family also participates in the ENOBEE project, aimed at bringing bees back to the vineyard through practices that respect the habitat of these very important pollinating insects, with which the winery also produces delicious honeys.

There are 23 total hectares owned by the Ronco Blanchis estate, of which 12 are reserved for vines, particularly the traditional varieties Friulano, Malvasia Istriana, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Pinot Grigio, vines cultivated under certified organic farming. The plants benefit from the so-called "ponca", a type of soil characteristic of Collio consisting of a alternation of marls and sandstones, particularly suitable for quality viticulture, in the case of Ronco Blanchis characterized by a higher abundance of clay. Furthermore, the influence of the peculiar microclimate of the area is positive, determined by the simultaneous presence of the nearby Julian Alps and the marine breezes coming from the Adriatic Sea. In the winery, fermentations take place in stainless steel tanks or in oak barriques, new or with several passes, the same types of wine containers where the wines remain to mature until bottling.
