Bodega Teo Legido

Bodega Teo Legido is an artisanal winery that produces high-quality wines with meticulous care and attention. At the heart of Teo Legido's project is a conception of wine as a true work of art to be crafted with wisdom, guided by the polar star of beauty, pleasure, and expressive harmony. A quest that goes beyond the very concept of enology to cross into the realms of aesthetics, ethics, and to involve broader and deeper values and themes. In this new perspective, wine becomes a true work to be realized with an artistic approach and in the purest and most natural possible way. The winery operates following the principles of respect for the natural environment and applying biodynamic practices.

Attention to the environment, loyalty to the place of production, and the choice of an artisanal approach with manual processing have led Bodega Teo Legido to become part of the international association Renaissance des Appellations, created in 2001 by the famous French producer Nicolas Joly, who spread biodynamics in the vineyard by referring to the fundamental principles of authentic and direct expression of terroir, safeguarding the uniqueness of places, and creating wines capable of expressing all the nuances of their absolute uniqueness. A movement that was born to counter the emergence of a progressive process of standardization and the industrialization of the wine world and to give value to the artisanal work of vignerons and their land.

The estate consists of two plots that do not collectively reach two hectares. The La Bovila vineyard is located in the region of Madrigal de las Altas Torres, in the municipality of Moraleja de Matacabras, at about 800 meters above sea level. It is a small parcel of 0.95 hectares with very ancient origins, dating back to the Middle Ages, and was part of the old vineyard of the Marquis de la Ensenada, already famous in the 18th century. The vines were planted in the 1960s and were partially replanted in 2005 with Verdejo, Tempranillo, and Syrah. The climate is continental and Mediterranean, and the soils are stony and poor, composed of sandstones, flint, quartzites, and gneiss. The Las Galgas vineyard is located in the municipality of San Esteban de Zapardiel at 800 meters above sea level. It is an old vineyard of 0.95 hectares that in the 1700s belonged to the Marquis of Ensenada and has vines over 120 years old. The soils are predominantly sandy, with the presence of flint, quartzites, and gneiss.
